In June 2009, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 2454, the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009. This historic legislation will allow the United States to fight global warming while developing a clean energy economy, and contains key provisions for natural resources adaptation that will safeguard wildlife and ecosystems from the dangers of climate change. The House vote is a step in the right direction, and the Senate will now begin its work on climate legislation to address the impacts of global warming.
