James Navarro
Communications Specialist
Media relations contact for: Renewable energy, Mexican wolf, America's Wildlife Heritage Act, border, federal lands, transportation, and all state issues for AZ, CA, NM, NV, OR, TX and WA
James works on many issues at Defenders of Wildlife, with a focus on issues in the southwest, California and throughout the west coast. . Currently, James is working on the impacts of renewable energy siting on wildlife and habitat.
Before joining Defenders of Wildlife in 2008, James interned in the communications department at The Wilderness Society. James has served as a wilderness counselor for at-risk youth, covered local events for his community newspaper, written travel essays for a Korean magazine and taught English at a private school in Seoul.
James holds a B.A. in English and Creative Writing from Emory University.
