Alexandra Adams
Government Relations Associate
Areas of expertise: Global warming, wildlife adaptation.
Alex is a member of the Government Relations team where she is currently focusing on federal legislation to address the impacts of global climate change. Her work includes addressing the need to safeguard wildlife and natural resources as they adapt to a warming world.
Prior to joining Defenders of Wildlife, Alex served as Policy Director of Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper in Atlanta, a Waterkeeper Alliance organization. She was responsible for executing policy programs related to statewide water planning, tri-state water wars and both state and regional coalition initiatives. Alex has also worked in regional planning in Rhode Island focusing on greenspace preservation, climate change, transportation and affordable housing.
Alex earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from University of Florida, in addition to a concentration in Environmental Studies from Emory University as a non-degree seeking student. She earned her Master of Arts in Environmental Studies from Brown University.
